Arrival of the Ambassador for Galloway, Scotland

Wallace enters the halls, having accepted the invitation from Her Excellency Lady Chiara Luce Barberini.

"I bring greetings and tidings of peace from the County of Galloway. My name is Wallace, and I have been appointed as Ambassador to Venice. I hope that our two counties will prosper in an era of peace and harmony, and that trade will flourish between our two great nations. Firstly, I feel I should explain the political system in Scotland.

As a country, we are not united, we have a King, yet he has no real power and each county is ruled exclusively by the Duke's and Duchesses. Therefore, I come representing Galloway alone, Ayr and Glasgow (the two other Scottish counties) have their own embassies and ambassadors.

I am currently awaiting the Duke's signature upon a contract between our great nations, which will guarantee good relations."

Wallace then walks down to the port and awaits the ship containing gifts from Galloway to present to the Venetians.

Wallace returns to the room with a fresh copy of the treaty, signed and sealed by the Chancellor and Duke of Galloway.

TREATY ON THE STATUTE OF AMBASSADORS OF THE COUNTY OF GALLOWAY AND THE SERENISSIMA REPUBLIC OF VENICE

Article 1
I. The County of Galloway recognizes the Serenissima Republic of Venice as independent and sovereign.
The Serenissima Republic of Venice recognizes the County of Galloway as independent and sovereign.

II. The Embassy of the County of Galloway in the Serenissima Republic of Venice is considered sovereign territory of the County of Galloway .

Article 2
I. The Diplomatic Corps of the County of Galloway, composed of the Duke, the Chancellor and the Ambassador, has diplomatic immunity in the whole territory belonging to the Serenissima Republic of Venice.
The Diplomatic Corps of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, composed of the Doge, the Grand Chamberlain, the Ambassador and the Counsellor, has diplomatic immunity in the whole territory belonging to the County of Galloway.

II. The County of Galloway may declare a member of the Diplomatic Corps of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, except the Doge and the Grand Chamberlain, "persona non grata." This leads to the loss of the status of diplomatic representative in the County of Galloway.

The County of Galloway allows, respecting all local travel laws, the free movement throughout its territory to the Diplomatic Corps of the Serenissima Republic of Venice.

I. The County of Galloway is committed to protecting and helping the Diplomatic Corps of the Serenissima Republic of Venice in all of its territory and in any situation.

Article 5
If one of the signatory provinces wishes to cancel this Treaty,the Chancellor or Grand Chamberlain has to send a written declaration to their counterpart. The Treaty will then be considered obsolete one week after receiving this notification.

Article 6
This treaty is written in two versions, one Italian and one English. The two versions have the same value and effectiveness.
