L'arrivo di Lady Caitilin de Lusignon, Baldar la moglie.

As Lady de Lusignon's ship approached the great port of Venice, she stayed above deck. It had been a long voyage from England and she fared well once she had her "sea legs". Although she was more at home on horseback, the voyage was a pleasant one. Soon the the vessel would dock, so she prepared to disembark into the Palazzo Ducale. The beautiful city of canals lay at her feet. The ship's Captain escorted her across the piazza San Marco to a waiting gondola which would take her to the palace of the Doge.

Venice came alive for Cait as she traversed the Grand Canal that snaked through the city like a large blue serpent. The building facades that lined the canal were like nothing she had ever seen. A floating city with busy markets and rich in culture lay before her to explore. And explore she would!

As wonderful as her journey was, one thing was in her heart. To see her husband, Baldar, and hold him in her arms again. When they reached the building that housed the offices of the ambassadors, the gondola came to a graceful stop. Caitilin took the hand of the ship's captain to step from the small boat. Her heart beat faster at the thought of meeting the honorable people who worked with Baldar. Cait had faced enemies on the battlefield with less nerves than she was feeling now. There seemed to be a thousand butterflies in her stomach. Taking a calming breath, she smoothed her gown and recaptured the stray locks of dark hair that had escaped and hung softly about her face. She must look her best!

Approaching the guard at the palace gates, she raised her chin and announced herself. Her Italian would be minimal and most likely flawed but she would try to make her husband proud.

"Il mio nome è Lady Caitilin de Stryke-de Lusignon. Sto cercando l'ufficio di Baldar de Lusignon, l'Ambasciatore del Regno d'Inghilterra. Mi potete aiutare?" The word felt strange on her lips.

The century at the gate nodded politely and sent word to the palace of her arrival. While she waited, she thanked the good Captain for his kind assistance and released him to return to his ship.

A guard came in front of his office and knocked on the door.

Avanti! said the Baron

Eccellenza... a Porta della Carta è giunta una donna... dall'accento inglese... chiede di essere accompagnata all'ufficio di suo marito, Baldar.

Grazie, vado subito. And the Chamberlain got up and went quite quickly to the Porta della Carta.

Noticing an English-look woman, he understood that she was the English woman the guard had just finished to talk him about.
So he came up to the woman and he stooped before her saying:

Good Morning Excellence, I am just honored to know you and let me to introduce myself: I am Sir Julian Lancaster called "Miglia The Sarcastic", Baron of Soave and Chamberlain of Venice.

Hearing the little English accent that there was in his words and pronunciation, the woman looked strange on her face: she couldn't know that the Chamberlain had born in Lancashire.
And answered...

Lady de Lusignon curtiesed and bowed respectfully to the Chamberlain of Venice. She spoke in Italian to the Baron of Soave, hoping she would not embarass Baldar with her poor skills.

"E 'un onore di incontrarmi con voi, Sir Julian. Grazie per la riunione di me. Sono Caitilin Signora De Stryke-de Lusignon. Sono venuto al vostro grande città per incontrarsi con mio marito, Baldar de Lusignon. Egli è l'ambasciatore di Regno d'Inghilterra. Potete prendere me a lui? "

Rising, Cait looked at the Chamberlain's kind face and smiled at, Sir "Miglia The Sarcastic",

"Vedo che si parla inglese e molto bene, il mio Signore. Si prega di perdonare me, si parla poco della lingua e male, ho paura."

Caitilin Contunued in English. "My voyage has been long but to see your beautiful Venice was worth every moment. Is Lord de Lusignon available?" She longed to see Baldar again.

Julian was a bit stranged by this request and so he asked her:


Milady, are you ambassador of English Kingdom? You know, a Chamberlain needs to have some guarantees, I cannot take you to his office, if you are not here with a diplomatic object...

Her fears realized, that she had traveled all this way and would not see her husband, Cait took a deep breath. "I am not here as an ambassador, Sir Julian. I have no letters of introduction." She swallowed hard to hold back the tears. She would not show weakness in the eyes of this stranger. "I am here as the wife of Ambassador Baldar de Lusignon, who wishes to see her husband. I do understand that you must be careful. So here I will wait until you can verify my identity or find my husband."

Caitilin curtsied and turn sharply, taking a seat on a nearby bench. She was tired and through talking. She would wait and watch the boats on the canal until things were straighten out.

Baldar had heard from the guards talking in the hallway of an english woman, arriving and leaving his office , he goes to see who it is, his curiosity taking the better of him.

he makes his way to the Porta della carta and sees, the Lord Cahmberlin, talking to a woman who then goes to sit on the bench, he nears himself to the scene, Eccellenza ci sono problemi, posso essere di aiuto, he then sees the woman, Mi scusi eccelenza, and he races to embrace his wife, Cait my love, you have arrived sooner then I thought, he kissed her holding her in heis arms, come ; Eccellenza, vi presento mia moglie Dama Caitalin de Stryke de Lusignon, da oggi sara con me, spero che questo non ti crea problemi, Baldar fissa Lord Julian

In Baldar's arms, Cait allowed her tears of joy and relief to fall. "My darling, I was afraid they would not let me see you." She embraced her husband and kissed him with passion. "I'm sorry the ship I caught was days earlier than the one that was scheduled. So I am here early. I could wait no longer to be with you. I hope I have not caused a problem for you."

Caitilin turned to the Chamberlain. "Sir Julian, il mio più profondo scuso se ho causato un problema. Siete stati molto gentili. Grazie, Signore mio."

She stayed close to Baldar.

Exactly, if your Chamberlain names your wife your personal assistant there will be no problems

As Caitilin and Baldar sat talking of the times they had spent apart, a young man approached and bowed low to Lady de Lusignon. "My Lady, this has just arrived by ship from the Embassy Offices in London for you." He handed her a rolled parchment with the seal of the Kingdom of England, Royal Ambassadors. Cait broke the seal and unrolled the parchment. Reading it, she smiled and handed it to Baldar to read.

She kissed her husband and stood. approaching the tall gates and the guard again.

"Si prega di informare il Signore Chamberlain, Sir Julian, che le mie credenziali sono arrivati. Se egli sarebbe così gentile da consentire l'accesso a me mio marito l'ufficio."

Cait showed the guard the letter and waited with Baldar for Sir Julian's return.

Julian was called by a guard, he immediately stood up and went reading the English Royal parchment.
He bowed low newly and read it.
When he finished reading he told the couple pleased:

All right! Let's go to the office!
